Lucky Dad

Hi Charlie,

Dad here, just to let you know how sweet you were a couple of times this week.  Early this week, your Mom and I were putting you to bed.  It was Mom's turn to read you a story good night so I leaned in to give you a kiss goodnight. As I got close you reached for my glasses (not unusual!), took them off my face and then proceeded to kiss both of my eyes and both of my cheeks and gave me a huge smile when you were done.  It was the highlight of my week little man!

The second moment came a few minutes ago when I was putting you down for your afternoon nap.  You had a big morning today, out on a walk and then off to swimming for an hour.  As usual, swimming took care of all the extra energy you have each day and you were pretty tired come nap time.  You wouldn't let me put you to sleep without a story.  Before we started you could hardly keep your eyes open.  As we turned each page you would fight to see what was on the next page.  Eyes open, eyes closed - over and over.  At the very end you closed the book and then turned your head into my chest, grabbed your blanket nice and tight and went to sleep in my arms.
