Grand Opening - Caledon Ski Club 2016/2017

Opening weekend - I figure this grand opening must have been a full month before last season.  Last season was so mild and didn't start until mid January, from what I recall. It was sunny and brisk out there today.  We took two vehicles up because of all the ski equipment, but that ended up being a blessing as Charlie skied for almost 7 hours today!  Dad was cold and begging for breaks but Charlie kept wanting "one more run".  We finally left at 2:30PM, about 2-3 hours later than any day last season. Charlie slept on the way home and Dad crawled to the couch for a wee nap before dinner.

We had upgraded Charlie's skis this year to a much bigger pair.  His first run was a challenge, but he figured it all out at the top of the second run.  By the third run it was like he picked up right where he left off last year ... and then he proceeded to pound the mountain (ok, mountain is a stretch).  The highlight of his day was when Dad was going backwards and caught an edge and wiped out big time.  He couldn't stop laughing!

Evie had a great time running around the lodge.  I was tempted to get her out on skis today, but realized we didn't have a helmet for her.  I think she'll be cruising before seasons end.
