What a great idea Mom had getting us 4 tickets to see a Christmas Carol at the Elgin Theater downtown Toronto. The afternoon started with a train ride followed by a subway ride - almost enough excitement for one day and we weren't even at the theater yet!
Grabbed some booster seats and headed up to our seats and started looking at the play booklet, describing the characters, actors and actresses. When the play started, Evie looked like a deer in headlights - just stunned and not sure what to think about the noise and the play. This wasn't Charlie's first rodeo, so he was into it right from the beginning.
The show was interactive, so you were encouraged to yell and boo at Scrooge as well as sing along to songs like Despacito (Luis Fonsi ft. Daddy Yankee), There's Nothing Holdin' Me Back (Shawn Mendes), YMCA (Village People). Charlie got right into it and Evie was still looking like a deer in headlights halfway through the opening act!
Even though the kids were having a blast, it was a long show. At the intermission the kids looked hot and tired (and hungry) and even Charlie wasn't so sure this Scrooge guy was worth hanging out with for another hour - "Dad, is he really going to steal Christmas? I don't think he is very nice." Instead we jumped on the train, got off at Exhibition and found a nice little place for some dinner. Home a little later than bedtime, but hey, its the holidays right!
This last photo was taken by Charlie, nice of him to get me in a photo!
