More Christmas fun

After Christmas morning at home, we drove down to St. Catharines with Uncle Marcus and made it to Uncle Jim's for Kretz Christmas morning.  As usual, we had the traditional back bacon sandwiches.  James and Andrew did a great job BBQ'g the back bacon this year.  Enjoyed by the full gang .. unfortunately, I don't have any pictures of this.  The sandwiches hardly last long enough for a picture!

From Uncle Jims we went over to Sandy Cove and opened some gifts.  Again, I failed miserably and have no pictures of the gift exchange.  We did however, most of us anyways, manage to get a serious nap in - GT, Dad, Charlie, Evie and Uncle Marcus for sure ...

From there, we headed over to Lockhart and opened our traditional stockings, the first year without Mom (Nana Wendy).  Auntie Kim and Aunt Lynn did a wonderful job replicating Mom's stockings - underwear, oranges, toothbrush, deodorant, Boston cookies (Mom loved this recipe), socks and more!  Bob also did us a favour by making a huge batch of Mom's "nuts and bolts" and we had some of those at Lockhart and Bob and Nan's.  A really touching tribute to Mom, one that was very much appreciated by all of us.

After a quick stop at Lockhart, off to Bob and Nancy's where they spoiled us with a beautiful Christmas dinner, as always, a highlight of the day.  More gifts for the kids, but some really thoughtful gifts from the family as well.  Craft beer ... just kidding, though that was nice!  I received a DVD of Fair family videos, a Winnie the Pooh framed quote which Mom loved, as well as a cup Mom and Dad had made to commemorate my birth back in 77 - buffed up and polished by the Grand Dude himself.

Everyone did their best to make this a great day for the kids and special day without Mom around.  Thank you so much!
