We lit the birthday candles a second time (bottom half of cake only) for Evie and fortunately, she is still young enough that I don't think she realized what she missed. In her Unicorn costume and feeling much better than she was a few hours earlier, she had a lovely little evening celebrating with her big brother and opening up some gifts.
